We require all NEW athletes to complete our 8 session Fundamental Series, taken in sequential order. During these 8 sessions you will learn the skills necessary to integrate smoothly and safely into our regular daily group fitness classes. If you have done Functional Fitness classes elsewhere these 8 sessions are not mandatory.
Prior to or during your 8 session fundamentals we also provide each client with a comprehensive FMS (functional movement screen) and screening review with our in house PT service from Best Rep Rehab. This will help our coaches dissect and then and investigate what your movement baselines are and how through some trackable and easy steps help to correct them.
In each session, a coach will teach and demonstrate the foundational movements we use in our Group Fitness Classes, as well as review your range of motion and various scales to get you moving safely. Following the instruction portion of the class, you will participate in a workout. We guarantee you will get sweaty and you will have fun.
Mastery of the fundamentals is not only a prerequisite to participating in group classes, but will also make your experience at SMCF more meaningful and enjoyable. Pre-registration is required. Athletes must complete all 8 sessions before entering the group classes!
Getting to the gym shouldn't be hard. Good thing SMCF is easy to get to! We are located right off of Route 78, easily accessible from Allentown and the greater Lehigh Valley.
